Terms of Service

1. Service Description

GiftPlan.io provides an online gift registry platform that enables registry owners (“Registry Owners”) to create gift registries for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, housewarmings, anniversaries, graduations, and other celebrations, and receive monetary contributions from guests (“Contributors”) towards specified items.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and reside in a country where Stripe Connect is available to create a registry. By using our service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Fees and Payments

Publication Fee

A one-time publication fee is required to publish your registry and make it visible to contributors. The fee is shown in your local currency based on your location at checkout. This fee is non-refundable once the registry is published.

Transaction Fee

We charge a 1.5% platform fee on all contributions received. This fee is deducted automatically from each contribution before it is transferred to your account.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. Standard Stripe processing fees apply (rates vary by country and card type). You must connect a valid Stripe account to receive contributions.

4. Registry Owner Responsibilities

As a Registry Owner, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about yourself and your registry
• Use contributions for their intended purpose or as otherwise agreed with contributors
• Comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations
• Not use the service for fraudulent or illegal purposes

5. Contributor Acknowledgment

Contributors acknowledge that their contributions are gifts to the Registry Owner. GiftPlan.io does not guarantee how contributions will be used. All contributions are final and non-refundable unless required by law.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload to your registry. By uploading content, you grant us a license to display it on your registry page. Product information from Amazon is subject to Amazon's terms and conditions.

7. Registry Lifecycle

• Registries can remain in draft mode indefinitely
• Published registries remain active until 30 days after the event date
• After 30 days, registries are archived (view-only, no new contributions)
• After 90 days, registries and associated data are permanently deleted

8. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our service to:

• Engage in fraud or misrepresentation
• Use the service for deceptive fundraising or any purpose you are not authorised to represent
• Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

9. Limitation of Liability

GiftPlan.io provides the service “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for disputes between Registry Owners and Contributors, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid to us in the past 12 months.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Deletion is subject to data retention requirements in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
